Alright, sweetie. It's time for bed. Would you like me to tell you a story? Alright then. Have I ever told you the story of slender man? I haven't?

Well... He's really tall and takes the shape of a man wearing a black and white suit. He has unnaturally long arms and legs and he's really thin. He is pale and doesn't have a face.

You can see him, sometimes. But if you DO see him, then he'll know and he'll take you away.

No, I haven't seen him. But when I was a little girl, just about your age, I had a friend who saw him.

We were playing at the park, just like the one where I take you. We were playing on the swing set and she suddenly got very scared. She told me she saw a tall strange man without a face standing under the trees, facing our direction. I looked but I didn't see anything.

She was really scared, and started to cry. So we went home and after that, I never saw her again. She just disappeared.

I've heard that some people see him in parks. Other say he can be seen standing in the woods near houses, just like the woods around our house.

I've heard people say that when he sees a child he likes, he goes into their homes and walks slowly through the house. You can hear his footsteps and he'll slowly open your bedroom door. He's so tall that he has to stoop over just to see inside. But he'll stand in the door, watching you for a long time before he decides whether he wants to come in or not.

Once he chooses you, there's no stopping him from taking you away. He'll take you to his world. A dark, wet place somewhere different than here. There is no sun and no stars. It is a place where no light can shine. No wind can blow. Where nothing good can live.

Some say that he takes children because he's always wanted to have a child of his own. He'll take you away and once he realizes that you don't want him, that you want to go home, that you don't want to stay in his world with him, he'll steal your eyes and then lock you away where you'll never escape.

Oh, no sweetie. It's just a story. There's no need to be frightened. You go ahead and go to sleep. You have school in the morning. Should I leave the hall light on for you? Alright. Good night. I love you.
I was thinking about slender man and I thought, what is the back story for slender man? I know he was made up on a thread a few years ago but I wondered where his idea came from. Then I wondered what the story would sound like; a parent telling the story of slender man to their small child for a bedtime story and I came up with this. What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know.

And as a disclaimer, just in case, I did NOT create slender man. He does not belong to me.
